Add a watermark to PDF
Marking a document as a draft, confidential, or branded copy usually means editing it in the original software, if you even still have it. DMI's watermark tool adds custom text over every page of a PDF directly in your browser: type the watermark text, then set its position, rotation, and opacity so it sits clearly without hiding the content underneath. The change is applied to a new copy of the file, and because everything happens locally, the original document is never uploaded anywhere. It is a fast way to label proposals, mark internal drafts, or add a company name across shared PDFs before sending them out.
How it works
- Upload the PDF you want to watermark.
- Type the watermark text and set position, rotation, and opacity.
- Click Apply to download the watermarked PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is adding a watermark free?
Yes, DMI's watermark tool is completely free, with no signup and no limit on how many PDFs or pages you stamp. There is no DMI branding forced onto your output, and no paid plan needed to access any of the options.
Are my files private and safe?
Yes. The watermark is applied entirely in your browser, so the PDF is never uploaded to a server. We log usage metadata, including your IP address, tool name, filename, and file size, for up to 12 months to help prevent abuse, never the file content.
Can I control how visible the watermark is?
Yes. You can adjust the opacity so the watermark is subtle or bold, set its rotation angle, and choose where it sits on the page, so it stays readable as a mark without obscuring the text underneath it.
